Join CARPET Spoken Word + The Sustain Theatre for intimate evening of live performance at a purpose built venue in the heart Westwood forest.
Headlined by the award winning Pete The Temp (featured on BBC Radio 4) the event will also include featured artists and performances from CARPET Spoken Word.
Under a star-lit sky, deep in the woods, we'll share drinks, poems, dances and songs.
Pete (the Temp) Bearder is a loop station artist, comic and spoken word poet whose work has been work featured on BBC Radio 4, World Service and Newsnight. He is a former UK National Poetry Slam Champion and has performed at over 30 festivals, including a tour with Slamboree, where he performed poetry to (and stage dived into) many thousands of ravers. In 2015, Pete did a TED talk in London about his work as a spoken word educator. He has toured in Europe with the British Council and in 2016, Pete released his first book - Numbered Boxes. 2019 brings the tour of his second book: 'Stage Invasion: Poetry, Renewal and the Spoken Word Renaissance'. The book is published by Outspoken Press and backed by Arts Council England.

The Sustain Theatre is a fully equipped performance space with a purpose built stage and raked seating, situated in Westwood forest. There is an indoor bar situated in this unique, purpose built arts venue, built from sustainable and recycled materials. The theatre space boasts over 100 seats covered with a canopy and suitable for all weathers.

There are compostable toilets, a smoking area, a bar,
close bay parking for disabled patrons, and stunning surroundings.

As the event is happening outdoors in Nov we suggest you dress warm, but promise you maximum comfort.

LOCATION: The Sustain Theatre, Wentwood
The venue is situated in the heart of Wentwood Forest, close to Wentwood Timber. To attend shows at the theatre you will need to park in the Forester's Oaks Carpark. From there you will be collected by a shuttle bus that runs every 15mins.
If you require a disabled parking space they are available right beside the venue.
